Remap for 996tt?

I wonder if anyone has experience of Revo, DMS, AMD, GIACor FVD Brombacher who all offer to remap the 996tt and all obviously claim leadership in the field. I am leaning towards DMS because of the EVO reports although GIAC seem well regarded in US and are now offered by Statller in Sheffield. The FVD looks interesting as they actually send you the software and USB connecter so you flash it onto the ECU yourself and can revert it back to dtandsrd at any time or request map adjustment to be emailed if you change anything else eg exhaust or need to use low octane etc,.

Trouble is too much choice - a magazine comparison would make good reading.
Any help please???

Well I suspect that most people will only know one remap that they have used themselves.

I have the Revo and it does what it says on the tin!

They offer a 5 hours free trial so you can't really go wrong with that. I suspect that they are all very similar as lets face it they are only playing with fuel, timing and boost pressure and therefore for there basic plug and play systems they will all be relatively conservative but much better than factory.

If you want to change the settings yourself then you will want some of the extra hardware that will be available at a price from a number of the suppliers.

No - to be meaningful you would need to do a before and after run on the same day. The Revo installer do not have a dyno but you can instantly tell that there is a significant torque and power gain which was enough for me.....wasn't too bothered about the numbers.

You can obviously see the boost increase on the gauge but the acceleration and throttle response is seriously improved.....try out the free trial nothing to lose really.

Phil, you missed a major player - have a dig around for RS-tuning, they are regarded as possibly the most experienced. Their code is now offered from Parr, although RS do your ECU at HQ in Germany so you need to surrender your car for a week!

I've done quite a bit of digging and reading as I was looking for something for my 997tt, and have mentally shortlisted 3 - in ascending order of price: West, DMS and Parr.

Prices I have been quoted (before nogotiation!!) are not relevent for the 996 obviously, but for a remap ONLY I was getting about £1500 plus VAT from West - £22000 plus VAT from DMS. Parr have only quoted me for a powerkit (Remap+exaust+air filter) at a whopping £5,500 (this may not include VAT either)

I have heard nothing but good reports from all of them.

Good luck
