Remapping

Hiya all

Seriously considering remapping my 2000 996 C4, now I know that http://revotechnik.com/products/softwareProduct.aspx?pvID=848 seems to be highly recommend on this site but they seem to be very very expensive at £580 odd. Ive seen these people http://www.remapscience.co.uk/porsche_ecu_remapping.html and their remap is only £275!!!

Was wondering if anyones has had any experience with these guys, good or bad???

Thanks

Adam

Looking around on other forums, they have been asked about but nobody has tried them. A bit of digging around reveals that somebody called Michael Gibson registered the domain on the 8th August 2009. What's curious is that he's registered it (and maybe 40-odd like bentleyremap.co.uk, audis3remap.co.uk etc.) as a non-trading individual, which is in clear breach of the Nominet rules. The address given on the website is simply a road name - what, no number on a road that is 250 metres long? On www.rollingroadtuningcenter.co.uk (one of his many websites), they claim to have a rolling road, however this is never referred to in any of the other websites, which seems odd. This quote from the FAQ jumped out: "We never use generic ECU remapping files. We will always make a custom map for your vehicle" Hmm, how do they do a proper custom map when they do it at your location?

So, the question you need to ask yourself is: would I want to do business with someone who is trying to be anonymous, makes claims that seem somewhat questionable & has a disregard for the rules of domain registration?

Never heard of these people but FYI, Parrs at Crawley / Gatwick are doing their own map which adds 20HP, and as they predominately look after Race Teams they should know what they are up to, as soon as finance permits I am off there to get my 2002 C2 Cab done. Apparently the Mid range responsiveness is the major benefit.
