Remaps and air intakes

Hi

Couple of questions, hear good things about re-mapping for better fuel consumption and performance... how is insurance affected, do companies frown on it, charge a premium etc??

I was talking to a guy at Porsche Silverstone who had the air intake mesh covers on to keep out debris. Anyone know of these can be supplied and fitted in Manchester area and any adverse effects e.g. reduction in cooling effeciency that people are aware of?

I have a 987 2.7.

Thanks

The intake mesh grilles are made by zunsport and cost about 130 pounds, you can buy them from e bay and are simple to fit yourself. They dont affect performance and shouldnt be an insurance issue.

A remap would affect insurance and your existing insurer may decline to quote , forcing you to a specilist and uncompetitive premium. Personally for the gains involved I wouldn't bother.

If you fit Zunsport grilles can they be removed without any damage such that it is not visible to anyone that they were ever fitted?

Robin
Brian Miller the Edinburgh indy 0131 443 7806 fitted then to his S and look great fitted then in 10mins and I believe they can be removed easiely
You can buy Boxster ones for the 987 for £87 just do a Google search under Zunsport

Interesting to know exactly how they are removed. clip in against the black plastic on the inside of the air intakes. Masking tape will protect paintwork to put them in.
