Remember this car???

Can't find the thread but I posted about this motor some time ago, it's been up for sale at RPM for aaaages now and with varying descriptions.

It vanished from their site for a bit, it's always been around 20+k, now look at it:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/996-Carrera-2-Manual-GT3-Bodykit-997-19-alloys-Rebuilt-egine-/200830922604?pt=Automobiles_UK&hash=item2ec274af6c

Sure it's the same motor, sure doesn't sound like their original add, scuffed alloys, tatty, rebuilt engine which doesn't appear to be rebuilt, all in all nothing like the polished pics with their modified engine they were offering.

I remember it. I know a previous owner of the car, and he supercharged it at one time. I think he also rebuilt the 3.4 engine, so it sounds like the original engine has gone back in.

Here is the original thread: http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/fb.asp?m=702726

Aha! That will be the one :)

It looked very nice in the previous pictures, and for the spec they were offering looked like a viable proposition. But know knowing how much is has been played with and how tatty it sounds / looks now I am not so sure!

Sounds like they have given up and put an old 3.4 lump back in they had knocking around - unless they just removed the SC kit.

Mind you it does seem to have had the IMS sorted so for the money not a bad car (although a bit leggy) as the main engine failure option seems to have been attended to.
