remote control no longer works...

Hi,
Remote control didn't work yesterday, no flashing LED on remote so assumed the remote control battery had gone. Got battery replaced but still no joy, remote won't lock or unlock car although the remote LED is now flashing. The key will start the car. Anyone know what's happened to it ? Has it lost all it's data/code ? I presume I'll need it re-programming from OPC or indy ? A colleague suggested it might be possible to re-program it myself by putting it in door and holding button but I am a bit sceptical...
I do have a spare remote that I am now using.
Any advice welcome...

There is a procedure for resetting the remote which involves putting the battery in the wrong way round for a few seconds. Porsche issued a TSB on it. If you would like details, drop me an email and I'll attach them to a reply. It works sometimes, but if not then you'll need a new remote and programming. []

Hi Richard,
I tried the TSB instructions but unfortunately reversing the polarity didn't fix my problem. Don't expect it will be covered on the warranty but it'll do no harm trying! Thanks very much for your time and advice, much appreciated,
Kind regards,

Tangoss
