Remote Fob

I'm sure its been covered before, but can't find it (Maybe it could be put in FAQ or technical, Maurice?), so sorry to go over an old subject.

If I have only one black remote fob, what are my options for getting spares. I understand Hamilton and Palmer are the people to contact which I'll do next week, but I am unsure what to ask for.

I know the red is the master, but I don't know if I need to request one new red and one extra black, programmed to an existing number code that they may ask me for, or if I need a complete reprog and need one red and two blacks and throw away my existing black fob. How much does it cost? Has anyone else used H & P, for this recently? Also, where can I get an additional ignition key too?

If you have the red fob you can order a new black fob, and use the red one to reprog it. Hope this helps.

Had same problem, took mine down to Hamilton and Palmer's. Took them just over an hour to reprogramme my motherboard, recode my existing Black Fob. I also then got an additional Black Fob and a Red Master Fob, used for recoding additional remotes. Think it cost about £90, maybe less.well worth doing as I only had one working Black Fob remote.

Thanks for replies guys, very useful.
Think I'll go for Nigels option, seems a reasonable cost. Those other missing fobs may still be out there somewhere, and who knows whether some clever spark with one of the old fobs could then find my address somehow (reg no check?), and call by at 4 in the morning, too easy. So the idea of a fob reprogramme seems best to me for peace of mind.

My board died - the nice people at Hamilton and Palmer came & replaced it and supplied two new (smaller) fobs with it & a new red master fob too. Prices quoted by everyone seems about right. They arrived wherever I was at the prearranged time. Overall work took about an hour"¦
Worth remembering that if you go to an OPC, Hamilton and Palmer are the most likely third party company called in to do the fitting.
