Remote Locking

Hi, I wonder if anyone on here can help me. I had a rather strange thing happen this morning with my 2005 987. I could not unlock the car with the remote locking. So thinking that it was probably the battery I tried the spare key but no luck. I eventually got in the car the old fashioned way with the key. When I got to work and tried to lock the remote it worked. I tried to lock/unlock several times and worked every time. So I am slightly puzzled now. Anyone have an idea of what the problem is?

Car has probably gone into 'Sleep Mode' to save battery. A simple tug on the drivers door handle will reactivate the remote functions.

(The behaviour is normal)

Thanks Nick. Sleep mode did occur to me seconds after I posted. Strange thing is I used car yesterday. It obviously got a little confused. Maybe it wanted a break as I have been doing alot of driving lately!

I have had the same thing happen to me with my 2008 987. Even though the car had been only left overnight neither key would unlock the car remotely. This has happened 3 times in my 2 year ownership of the car.
I will try tugging the handle next time, thanks for the tip.

Will try that next time on the Spyder to see if it works ....i have my car on permanent trickle /conditioner CTec /Lidl it still goes to sleep after about a week .I put key in lock turn it to the left for 2 seconds and then back to centre and the remote now works as it should .The door handle seems the easier and quicker option option .[;)]
