Remote Sim

On my 981s (2012 car) the phone is still useable with the pcm, but on my cayenne ( end 2013) the PCM takes control of the phone via remote sim which means I can't do anything on the phone if it's blue tooth connected . Means text messages come to screen and are not on phone as well, a pain

Anyone know if you can stop remote sim and have control of phone ? Also is it software dependant as both cars have PCM3

Two ways. You should be able to go into the phone menu on the PCM and deselect Sim access or on the phone prevent remote access to the sim. With PCM 2.1 the selection between HFP and SAP could only be done be the Porsche Centre but PCM 3 gives you the power, well, at least it does on mine![:)]

I cant see anything in my Samsung S5 or iPhone 5s menu so a bit confused, I too thought there would be some control :(

My 2009 car had to go into my local OPC and get the sim priority deactivated so the Bluetooth took priority. It only took 20 minutes of programming to sort it.

My phone is an iPhone 5S

In which case you need to turn off SAP in the phone menu on the PCM. If you can't find it I will have a look tomorrow and list the steps.

Ok, here's the sequence on my PCM 3, which I hope is the same for you! Bit long winded and there is probably a shorter route
With your phone connected press
"PHONE"
"OPTION"
"SET PHONE"
"BLUETOOTH SETTINGS"
"DEVICE LIST"
Select your phone from that list (if there is more than one!)
"SIM ACCESS OFF"

Apple iPhones do not support SAP (SIM Access profile) only HFP (hands Free profile) which means that when connected via Bluetooth to the PCM the iPhone's SIM is used rather than the SIM built in to the Telephone Module in the PCM which also means that the iPhone's antenna is used rather than the antenna in the car.

It will be the Samsung that's the problem.......[;)]
