Removal of 4th Brake Light

Yes I really mean 4th brake light. I have the optional basket handle rear brake light mounted above the spoiler which seems somewhat unnecessary (given two normal brake lights and the set accross the top of the rear wind shield) and in my opinion spoils the lines of the car.

So I was thinking of removing it. Has anybody else done this?

I am guessing that electrically and mechanically this is probably very simple, but the unanswered question is how to fill (or at least mask) the holes that are left behind - as I am guessing that the blasted thing is bolted through the bodywork.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Rob

I too have the dreaded basket handle spoiler - even though my car is a coupe, (don't ask). Yes it is bolted to the engine lid, so should be a fairly simple job to remove. A competent body shop should be able to fill/paint the resulting holes. I would be looking to spend no more than a couple of hundred quid for such a small job.
