Hi all,
As we're entering spring and the weather is slowly getting better I've been hard at work polishing my motor. However, in my over eagerness to get the car shining I had unknowingly applied wax to some of the plastic strips on the car. When I had finished cleaning off the car I then noticed the dried on wax. However, no matter how hard I scrubbed at it with hot soapy water it just wouldn't come off!
Looking at some online forums quite a few people oddly recommended using peanut butter to remove dried on car wax from plastic car parts! Anyhow, I thought I'd give this a go as we fortunately did have some smooth peanut butter in the cupboard. To my astonishment and delight it really did work and you didn't need to apply much. I think I must have used a teaspoon at most and this cleared up all of the wax I had mistakenly left to dry on my car's plastic bits. Apparently, the oil in peanut butter breaks down the car wax.
Anyway, I thought I'd share this great tip to my fellow Porsche members..........so get waxing!
Cheers
Kevin
