Removing Headlight from mounting

Hi guys, MacThick here!! I'm trying to take out the headlight unit on my 944S. Handbook and everything else says take out 4 screws and swing out unit. The piece that has the little motor on it seems to hook behind the fixed bracket and will not move enough to come out. What am I doing wrong????? Had three goes at it now!

It's the servo that tilts the lights up or down when you use the adjuster in the car. It's that part of the frame that's attached to the light unit that seems to be catching and I don't want to force it!

Have you taken off the front plastic cap and the eyelid?
If yes you should be able to disconnect the motor from the bracket of the lamp.

Thanks for the help. I have taken the front plastic cap off but not sure what you mean about the eyelid - do you mean the metal cover?

If you are working on your headlights you can inadvertantly trigger them (thereby removing a digit or two) so remove the fuse/relay etc as a precaution [;)]

Paul, thanks for the warning but hadn't thought of that!!!! I had however taken the earth cable off the battery once the lights were up.

Same problem, new HD bulbs to fit, can't disconnect the lamp unit from the adjuster motor.
Watches thread with interest...
