Removing heater controller (square dash)

Hi guys, I am planning on removing the heater controller from a pre-facelift 944 and have a check at the cables connecting it to the HCV ( i have got a funny feeling the connection is broken somewhere).

Can anyone point me to the right direction for guids/how to's in removing the central dashboard section? Cheers!

As far as I remember from my 924, you pull off the knobs, then there's a plastic faceplate which unclips, so you have to pry it off carefully, then under that the actual controls plate is held on by 2 screws.

Cheers, managed to figure stuff out in the end. Previous owner did not attach the screws back on the heater control faceplate which was awesome because it is on such an awkward angle.

At least I know how to remove it now, maybe I should write a tutorial since there seems to be none around with pictures on it.

THey also managed to hook up the cable completely wrong, I would like to think the previous owner bumped it out from the control seating and threaded it from the wrong side. Grrrr! At least I'm not on 100% heat all the time now. Had enough of my toes roasting to bits.

By the way, I disconnected the wires for the switches for the rear wiper, rear wiper spray, wing mirror switch, and I took a picture before I disconnected them. But somehow they don't seem to work anymore. Can anyone verify that I have got them connected properly to the switches? Photo below:

Well your rear screen spray will never work because as far as I know the 944 never had a full bidet, just the wipe

Well there seem s to be something amiss but there is too much contrast to tell the colours of the conductor insulation. You only seem to have mirror switches and Auxilary light switch connected. I'm pretty sure the wiper cluster has a brown wire in it for self parking

yeah that was a before pic and completely forgot to take a pic before disconnecting the wires. Anyway I have managed to make the mirrors work again, permutation for 3 coloured wires positions is not fun when doing it in the dark. Also I blew fuse no.9 hence why they weren't working in the first place. I've now bought more fuses than I would probably need.
