Removing Porsche Boxster 986 bumper cover for radiator maintenance

986 Boxsters owners might be interested in this PCA video showing how to access, clean out radiators and tidy up the front PU.

These PCA tutorials are generally excellent, however he has gone to all the trouble of removing the bumper (and believe me, with 20 year-old fixings, it can be a trial!) but failed to complete the task. With the air-con condensers mounted in front of the coolant radiators, the real damage is done by the crud that collects in the gap, which will stay put unless the condensers are moved out of the way. This is simply a matter of undoing two screws at one end and sliding tabs on the condenser out of their mountings at the other. No need to disconnect the air-con pipework, it's easy the clean out the muck while holding the condenser in your hand. In addition to prolonging the life of the condensers, which are actually a doddle to replace, it also prolongs the life of the coolant radiators, which aren't.
One more thing, he didn't make it clear why he removed the headlamps, but for this job it's completely unnecessary.

Chris...Useful information and comments. I'm going to have a go at this on my wifes 986.
