Removing radiator on S2

I have started the labourious process of overhauling the cooling system on my S2. That includes a new radiator, heater elbow, cooling hoses, and another matrix aquired.

However, whilst I am certain on the ways in which I can get out the matrix and other parts, the radiator I am a little uncertain on. Clark's guide says to remove the radiator from the bottom, but this seems to be an awkward thing to do with the bumper being in the way, I know on here that I think someone said that the radiator can be removed from above the top.

My question to you is how? I'm guessing all of the hoses require to be removed or is there more to it than that?

It'll come out the top, don't worry. Just remove the fan shroud (and fans) before you try to remove the rad itself.

I dare say if you have a four-post lift it's probably quicker to take it out from below on a turbo, but an S2 doesn;t have all the gubbins a turbo has above the rad [;)]

Done this recently and it come out of the top OK with the fans and hoses taken off. Jsut be careful and gently wiggle it out/in so you don't damage the fins.

Well, it's been taken out today with the hoses etc, from below. I tried from over top but I didn't dare wish to push things too far.

Although looking at the old rad (it is the original item (LRO Radiator with the Porsche logo on it) I am wondering if it was worth replacing it.

Now that the front end has been stripped (cooling wise) it's time to attack that wonderful matrix. Damn underneath and the valves have a little antifreeze on them so I'm near enough sure that the matrix has gone badly. Wish me luck.

Either way I'll be doing a writeup where I can of the things I am changing.
