Removing starter motor

I finally got round to trying to get the temperamental starter motor off the other evening. I think it just needs a good overhaul.

It seems that the main bolt holding the starter nearest the car underfloor (the difficult one to get at) has threaded and will not come out - it just goes round. It now nips up but not very well.[]

Any suggestions on how I might get this out without dropping the engine and drilling it?

What a pain, as you can see from the pic attached the main bolt also bolts the gearbox to the engine so both will have to come out really, can't think of any easier way, with practice the engine and gearbox can be out in 30 mins, needs two people though.
If one of your rocker covers is leaking that is a ten min job to renew the gasket.

Found the nut - all tightened. Many thanks guys[:D]

Ran a wire across the terminals and it turned, so i think I have a wiring problem - probably to do with the aftermarket immobiliser, which I might get removed.

Car now starts again - so panic over (for now[])
