Removing the steering wheel ?

New member
I have a replacement RS one arriving this week and need to find out how to remove the standard steering wheel first.

Any help is much appreciated.

Reeeeeally easy.

1) Pull off the horn push - held on by three push to fit sockets.

2) Disconnect the horn wire

3) Unscrew the big bolt, and pull towards you. I can't remember what size the bolt is, but I know it's AF, not metric.

The harder part is getting the new steering wheel back on straight!

Thankyou, i was hoping it would be that easy. I have already jingerishly treid pulling the horn strip off but it seems very well set to stay in position, are all three push fit sockets in the middle part of it because when pulling it at either end it seems to bend a lot and that's when i stopped pulling in case it snapped the horn pad.

Cheers

It's 24mm. There's nothing AF on Porshces is there?

The horn pad is flexible (to a point). 2 of the things that hold it on are at the ends (bottom I think) and the other is at the top in the middle.

Loosen the nut and then knock the back of th wheel with is still on (or it might get you in the chops). Remember to centre the wheel before you take it off...

Cheers for clarifying that.
