Removing Wing Mirrors

I've ordered some spray paint form Porsche Shop and will try and take apart the wing mirrors to give them a respray as they look like they have akne from all the stone chips. Any advice on removal? I know theres an allen key screw under the liitle rubber gromet when you pull the wing mirror out which allows you to remove it from the door. Any one removed the whole unit? Any tips will be a great help.
 
Wiring.

It's a nightmare. The six wires are in a multi-connector that is too big to fit through the hole in the mirror. You can extract the wires individually from the multi-connector if you're careful. I have variously stabbed myself with a screwdriver and slashed a finger open while doing this job though, so I emphasise carefully.

I have a feeling I posted a guide on here a few months ago so I'll search now and post the link if I find it.
