Removing wiper arm

Afternoon all, doing a trackday at Cadwell on Monday and, with the chance of rain and a dodgy driver's side wiper-arm linkage, I've repositioned the other wiper to sweep over the drivers side of the screen (looks kinda cool too - touring car esque!). In the meantime, I can't work out how to remove the driver's side wiper. I've taken off the plastic clip and removed the nut, is it then just a case of it lifting off? If so, mine's a little stiff!? I think it's just on a taper spline shaft (well, it looks like all the VW's and Audis of the same era, which are on taper splines.)

In which case yes, just pull it off. BUT it may well be very well stuck on, in which case a small puller is order of the day.

A few smart taps 'round the edge with a pin hammer may persuade it free if you don't have a puller.

yup thats definintely all it is just on a spline drive just put a little wd40 on mine and gave it a wiggle and it pulled away
