Rennbay balljoint rebuild kit

AS my car will be going ont he track soon, I have decided to fully rebush that car.

I decided to replace the ball joints with the track spec kit from travis at Rennbay US. I removed the balljoints after about half an hour of swearing etc to find that my ball joints were in poor shape, the bushing meterial had disintegrated. The car drove fine and passed its mot. There must be lots of cars out there with knackered ball joints. Would highly recommend the kit took about 1.5 hours in total with no specialist equipment. NEw ones come with grease nipples aswell. Good value at $185

It is a great kit and the goe correcting kit is a must for those with lowered suspension. The oem kits use nylon bushes which wear and break up very quickly leaving metal to metal contact.

Scott,
I just used the track kit which is 17mm (standard width) toughened balljoints with poly bronze bushes. I didnt like the thought of having to machine out the hub to 19mm and also thought the extra length of the geo correction kit will increase the load on the wishbone. I am just going to make sure my wishbones are hoizontal.

I'm sure you'll be fine as you clearly understand what the risk is and how to minimise risk of failure. The kit I got was still 17mm spindle but extended. I was concerned initially that the extended spindle looked too long and thin but I saw a photo of a US car that had suffered a offside to offside head on collision and the lengthened spindle had bent and it was the alloy arm that snapped about 4inches up, so the spindle is stronger than the arm itself which clinched it for me. But as long as your shockers are in good nick hence limiting dive under braking, and you make sure the A-arm is as flat as pissible you'll be fine.
