Renovo - anyone used it?

The hood on my cab is looking a bit drab and needs a bit of a "spruce-up".I proofed it last autumn with thompsons water seal which kept the water out but i've just spotted something called "renovo" on ebay. The "before" and "after" pics look a bit too good to be true.Has anyone used it before and if so what were the results like?.

Again I have never used it, but have received wisdom that it is good. To be honest I used to use Halfords PVC polish for my back window and it was fine, but they don't seem to do it any more.

I now have Xerapol for polishing plastic and tried it with reasonable success given I only did it half-heartedly on the back window of my Mazda before I sold it. Xerapol is also good for instrument "glass", plastic watch faces and plastic light lenses. The Hearse had very grit-blasted looking headlights until I went over them with Xerapol and a power polisher.

Of course Xerapol and PVC polish are only for the window and don't have a fabric component like I believe Renovo might.

I went to Renovo direct and I bought Tony the full pack which was cheaper than buying the items separate. Results were good.

Well, bought a 500ml bottle of the stuff and have spent a relaxing morning painting the hood.
At the moment it has a very "glossy" look which is a bit concerning but it's still quite wet.
In fairness it seemed to be easier to apply than the thompsons water seal which i proofed it with last year as it has a slightly thicker consistency so didn't "run" much at all.
I'll be looking to replace the hood next springtime as it has a few wear marks so as long as it brings the colour up better i'll be happy.
I don't think 500ml is sufficient for a badly faded hood though - mine's had one fairly liberal coat and i've got about 100ml or so left hopefully just enough to do the lining.
I'll post another pic when it's fully dry.

Well ive heard of Thompsons water seal being used for some strange things but NEVER waterproofing a cabrio top....

Hope the Renovo stuff does the job....

The thompsons did a grand job at proofing. The renovo has dried now and has improved the hoods appearance 100% and is quite a bit darker so was worth doing.I'll still change it next year but at least it's a lot more presentable now.
