Replacement/additional keys

Hi

I have a 1972/3 911E. The only key I have is not original (Kis Por9 written on the key) and I am not sure that the ignition/locks match the chassis number. I am looking for somewhere I can either purchase a blank - or better have the key copied.

The web has not yielded much - Australia is one option altho' their blanks do not seem to be the same as I have - and I cannot find any locksmith in London who can actually source and cut the key.

Does anyone know of a suitable source?

Cheers

Keith

I had the " red " key taken in a break-in (73 car fortunately elsewhere at the time ), & obtained a red key blank ( i.e. uncut ) at
an Early 911 meeting spares stand some years ago. An OPC made a b***s of the cutting in spite of providing the original details.
What next ? Key cutters can only copy, presumably, so we are stuck, are we not ? Help us, you gurus !

OPC can supply blanks and cut them if you have the old key. If the locks are worm you may need to replace them though.

Hi try the key in the glove box lock if it fits take the lock out and send it to Luke Lubbers (schusselprof Luke) (www.keyprof.com)

Thanks to everyone for their comments.

My OPC at Guildford could offer no help - except that Germany could supply a new key against the chassis number.

Thanks to T911UK and Bernard Tester - perhaps T911UK you could let me have some contact details and I will be in touch

Regards

Keith

That's pretty good support for a 40 year old car IMO. What makes you think the locks/ignition don't match the chassis number?

Ian.

T911UK is www.type911.co.uk
I bought a blank from them and had it cut by a local locksmith, copying the one that I had.
I think their part number is 2066, price £5.00 plus postage and VAT
