Replacement Badge

Hello All,

Looking for some advice with regards to replacing my very worn Boxter S badge. Is there a particular tried and tested method for removing the old one and fitting the new?

thanks

Ben

Masking tape to mark position of old badge.
Dental floss underneath to remove the badge.
Spirit wipe to remove any remaining glue.
A steady hand with the new one.

btw Remember that for the S the badge is a different colour to that of the standard one (non S) and that the 'S' is a separate part.

986 559 237 01 9A4 and 986 559 243 00 9A4 are the part numbers in 'Titanium'

Flossed mine off after a good soaking with extremely hot water from a recently boiled kettle and liked the clean debadged look so much didn't bother putting the spyder badge back on [;)]

thanks. It's a grey badge at the moment. I have seen genuine ones on ebay for £30. Is this about the right price?

Beware some ebay 'Boxster' badges as they are 'Silver' non-Boxster S versions.

Dealer price is 26 pounds for 'Boxster' and 17 for the 'S' less 10% PCGB discount.

There's an HG product called "Sticker Remover" - removes sticker glue, rubber based glue, sellotape, tar and smear marks. I used it to remove all the stickers my daughter put on a mirror in her bedroom. Bought it in our local hardware store. Planning to use it when I replace the 968 logo on the back of my cabriolet. It's very smelly - >30% aromatic hydrocarbons and 5-15% nonionics - but does the job! I've also been told that gentle heat from a hair dryer helps with removal.
