Replacement Battery?

When looking at replacement Bosch batteries I notice that some of the models recommended for the 911/993 do not have a drain pipe fitted (which is present on the standard Porsche version).

Does anyone know if this significant, or .... when is it necessary to have a drain pipe and when is it not?

Thanks

Now I'm sure there was a previous post on batteries, with a recommendation of what and where to buy, but unfortunatley a search is not showing it.

As mine has just lost its charge in 4 days (battery is original Porsche but 6 years old) I think it might be time to replace.

If anyone could point me in the right direction it would be much apprecaited.

Many thanks,

Maurice, for the avoidance of doubt, I guess your battery has "Halfords" stamped all across it rather than "Bosch"? I could only see own-label product in my local store.

... and the reference number was HB010?

Was checking myself today as mine has taken a turn for the worse lately - wasn't holding out much hope of finding one. Found the same one as you Shane I guess.... HB 010 - £75 , assume it's up to the task??? Anyone know for sure??

Had the Halford own brand battery fitted to my 993 for about 3 years now. Seems as good as any other to me.

Ian.
