replacement clutch cost - opinions

Hi All,

I have been an 986 owner since April and whilst the service manual was stamped by OPC and independent garages there was very little in receipts and repair paperwork. Having contacted the OPC centres named within the service record I find that the clutch was replaced at 24k at a cost of £1200 in Aug 2004. When I checked to see if the IMS had been done at the same time the service manager's remark was 'not at that mileage'. Unfortunately the system used to check my car is old and therefore to extract this small amount of information was difficult.

My question is however, having seen IMS and clutch replacements quoted at figures higher than £1200, is it likely that at 2004 prices this would be cost of the clutch alone?

I appreciate that my question is mater of opinion but I would be interested in hearing.

Thanks,

Aaron

Thats definately only a clutch at that price. That probably about the average price at an Indie now adays

I would also doubt that Porsche(OPC) would have even acknowledged that there was an IMS issue in 2004.

That does seem very competetive......

My Indie charges £786 for 2.5/2.7 7 £918 for a 3.2 inc VAT

beats £1200 though!!
