I don't know anything about this sort of stuff - do all 944's have an 02 sensor & where / how are they plumbed / wired in at the moment?

I think Rennbay have the same thing, I've seen it before somewhere.

All 944s that originally had a cat originally had an O2 sensor.

The lambda sensor is screwed into the cross over pipe, at the top, not far down from the turbo. You can get to it from under the car. This is then plugged into a cylindrical water proof plug clipped to a bracket at the back of the inlet manifold plenum.

These pictures were taken prior to me connecting a lambda so the blanking plug is still in place.
