replacement front display for cdr-22

Hi all,

I've been offered a CDR-22 from a Boxter, which I was thinking of installing to get rid of the rather chavy Sony unit that came with my new car...

I'm aware that I need to get a replacement display so I can see it properly, has anyone any recommendations where I can get one of these from and the cost ? Anyone imported one from the US ?

Also, my car has the nokia hi-fi option, I was wondering if there was any way of finding out what the original head unit supplied was ?

yepp, seen them on rennlist, I'll give them a try, just wondered if there were any uk suppliers.. :)

yikes, well, I got a very quick reply from the guys at that website, but they want $250 or, £130 for a replacement facia...

a bit steep when you add it to the £200ish I've been considering for the CDR-22... especially when that doesnt include a boot changer..

The alternative I'd been looking at was a Becker Grand Prix at £299, but that includes a blue tooth phone interface, and will play mp3 and wma3 cds..
It does look fairly 'factory fit' tho...

Has anyone got one, or something similiar ?

I recently fitted a Porsche branded Becker CDR-22 in my 993, it came from a Boxster via eBay. The LCD display was very faint. I found Putnoe Radio Service (PRS) who are authorised Becker service agents, they changed the removable LCD face plate with one from a Ferrari keeping the Porsche branding, the LCD display is now fine. Needed to re-input the code, so don't lose it (like I did for several days). Not a cheap fix though £132. Contact PRS on 01429 869220.

Hmm, think that would take the total to about £330...
and I see some places are offering the Becker Traffic Pro High Speed 7820 for £370...
think I'll probably be going down that route for the factory fit look now...
