Hello,
Not only am I new to Porsche club GB but am also new to 928 ownership. I love my new investment, but unfortunately, it only came with one key. I wish to have a spare key made. Would anyone be able to advise me of how I should go about getting this? I am aware a local shop (I. E. Timpsons) would not be able to cut the key.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Regards

Hi, I had the same thing with my first 928.
If the key you have works on all locks (both doors, fuel cap, glove box and tailgate) it is most likely the original. Porsche can then order a replacement from the factory.
i then used the new key and kept the old one as a spare. This was about 9 years ago and it cost around £50. Not sure what the cost is now.

Hi

Ditto, one key with the car that worked OK when I got it, then became intermittent, sometimes working sometimes not.
I thought the locks had gone, but took the plunge and ordered two new blades from keys4classics.com.
They are in Australia, but don't let that put you off. They require a photo of your current key, will cut the blanks to suit, and send you the code for future key cutting should you need it.

IIRC, the cost was about £100. I took the opportunity to buy new fobs as well from Porscheshop or some such dealer.
The keys work perfectly.

Well, it's an option if youwant.

Cheers
