Replacing 981 brushed alluminium rear luggage trim

During our Italian adventure in May the brushed alluminium trim got slighly damaged.

It's item 19 in the PET pic below - part no. 981 551 433 01

Has anyone changed one of these and if so is it a task that can be done DIY ?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

It is easy to do. I suggest getting a set of the plastic trim tools/levers to avoid damaging edges, but mostly it can be prized apart by hand. There are a couple of good YouTube vids on it.

Be aware, the black trim is held in place on pointed spurs which are covered by a rubber sleeve and push into holes in bodywork. The sleeves often often come off and drop down, so make sure you retrieve them and push back on before refitting.
