I am considering replacing my discs and pads, rears discs are getting a bit thin.
My MOT is being done next weekend and I feel it may be an advisory.
Which make of discs and pads are recommended for road use ?

Hi Kingsley,

Just for road use probably you’re best opting for the standard setup, either using Porsche approved parts or something like Textar pads and Sebro discs OEM, although there are plenty of other options available from someone like Design911 (who offer a discount of 10% to Club members using code PCGB010 at checkout).

Kingsley,

As Mike says, Pagid are always a reliable supplier, as are Brembo, so in addition to Textar and Sebro you’ve plenty of choice.

I believe that Textar are Porsche’s supplier for pads, so their OEM parts will be very close to Porsche spec, but I don’t think you can buy full Porsche spec discs other than from Porsche themselves. [I’ve been informed that their supplier is a German company SHW Brake Systems].

When replacing discs and pads it will be worthwhile replacing the wear sensors and anti-squeal damping pads, and some suppliers can provide brake packages like this:

+1 as recommended above - I’ve used both sebro and pagid discs with textar pads, but also check out the car parts for less website - exact same products delivered from the same stores as euro car parts, but often slightly cheaper especially with the discount codes they’re always running I the website.
