Replacing flexible section of Oil cooler pipes

How easy is it to replace the 2 flexible oil cooler pipes that sit in the front wheel arch just before the oil cooler? It seems easy enough just looks like 2 nuts to turn but some internet sources say that you can twist the pipes further down and it becomes a big job. Is it simple or are there hidden dangers that you should be aware off.

Advice opinions much appreciated,

As they sit in the wheel arch taking all the crud over the years getting those two nuts undone can be pretty difficult. Plenty of Rostoff (Wurth penetrating oil and the best) daily for a week before then maybe some heat when you're trying to remove them may work. Failing that cut the pipes (you're replacing them anyway) so you can get a ring spanner on the nuts - better leverage than an open ender.

As above i cut through pipes and removed the oi cooler.You can then protect the (expensive) cooler and remove the nuts. I used a dremel cutting through the nut carefully ( on both sides) untill you can just see the top of the threads.You can then use a large screwwdriver to twist the nut apart. I did the same to the nuts on the end of the pipes in the wheelarch. I believe the threads were coated with some assembly fluid at the factory which goes very hard with age.
Not difficult just take your time

thanks it seems that the nuts may be quite hard to get off.( as seen on other sources on internet).

cheers mate.

I have a dremmel but i don't know if it has a tool to cut those really big nuts. My dremmel seems only good enough to get through nuts on plastic airfix models. But I suppose your right if your going to relace the pipe you might as well cut through it.

I have read stuff on internet about heating the nuts but was worried about damage to the body plus also near oil. Will have a look at the new dremel stuff as my old one is not powerful enough to cut anything but plastic bits.
