Replacing front wing on S2

Just back from the MOT centre with my 89 S2, it passed with a couple of advisories.

The first is an easy fix, both front tyres are cracking on the edges, not worn at all but will be replacing them anyway based on their age.

The other was the front offside wing is really rusty, this has clearly been replaced before I bought the car but appears to be a wing from an earlier car as it has never really looked correct around the headlights, in the past year the rust has got really bad and not consistent with the rest of the car which looks good and is rust free.

I‘ve already bought a replacement as the current one is a mess, it’s been prepped but not painted.

Is replacement a diy job on the drive? I’ve had a look about online and have seen some threads about it being bolted on but can’t find any photos, I don’t want to start it and get stuck with it hanging off!

It does seem to be quite loose so I’m hoping with it being a replacement it won’t be stuck too strongly with any kind of sealant.
 
I've replaced a wing on a Lux, driveway job. Hardest part is breaking the seam Sealer (from memory it was over ten years ago).
If the wings been off before I'd imagine it to be straight forward.
 
Easy job -

1. Raise and support car
2. Remove front wheel
3. Remove arch liner
4. Remove bumper (I'm not writing all the steps to this but there should be 3 bolts on each side just inside the front of the wing)
5. Remove the bolts from the top edge of the wing (open the bonnet to access them)
6. Raise the pop-up headlights
7. Remove the single screw that holds the front of the wing to the headlight pod (just above the bumper inside the sticky out bit of the badge panel)
8. Remove the three bolts at the rear of the wing that bolt on to the bulkhead / firewall
9. If there is loads of seam sealer it might be difficult to remove, bit of heat etc.. otherwise it should just pop right off

Its actually covered in the workshop manual as well but I can't remember which chapter or page - referred to it when I removed and refitted my wings.

You don't need to remove the front bumper to take the wing off. In fact it's probably better if you don't because it makes the alignment of the replacement wing easier if the bumper hasn't moved.

Editted to add:
With it being the offside you will find that access to the 3 bolts that go into the A pillar is hindered by the ABS pump. It could be that whoever fitted the last wing found this to be too fiddly so just omitted these, hence the reason it seems loose. If you are going to do a proper job this time around then it is worth the extra pain to get those 3 bolts in. There is also a lower fixing to a bracket which gets rusted out because it catches a load of crud that the wheel arch liner misses. The bracket is available new from Porsche for pennies.
