Replacing PCM 1 with Kenwood (or other unit)

Mike Butler

All,

My 'new;' 996 has PCM1 with the incredibly unhelpful cassette and slow sat nav. I'm looking to replace it with the following kit:

Kenwood NV-DX8732 package which includes the KNA-DV3200 and DDR8027
Kenwood KCA-iP500 iPod adapter
Kenwood KNA-TM320 TMC adapter

Which should give it a new touch screen with DVD sat nav (with TMC), iPod control and as a bonus I could also play MP3 CDs, DVDs and DVD videos.

Has anyone else done this or anything similar? Do you know if there is a way on a third party system to display the onboad computer settings?

Thanks,

Mike

Cheers.

I am not a million miles away from Paddock Wood so if you do decide to go ahead wouldn't mind having a look as I am most interested in the concept
