REPLACING REAR WIPER ARM

Happy Christmas All.
This should be a simple one. I have taken off the relevant nuts to remove the old arm but the last bit that meets the washer on the windscreen will not budge. DO I need to force it- should it come off easily. Is it stuck??
I hope I have explained this. Any ideas appreciated.
THanks
Seb

Isn't there a clip on the screen side of the spindle that needs to be depressed, small screwdriver jobby??

Hi - not sure as it got dark before I could finish the job. Do you mean on the part that meets the screen?

Nope there is no clip on the rear arm.

I replaced mine a couple of weeks back, and like your one it was completely seized on to the spline.

For all the tugging I eventually sorted it very easily. A drop of WD 40 and 2 levers. The later is the important bit, as by levering both sides it just pops off. Lever on just one side and it makes it bite on even harder. I used 2 screwdrivers wrapped in cloth. It's a little nerve racking as it still takes a bit of force and I had visions of the screen exploding on me.

Hi - thanks for the info. Needless to say I havent had a chance to get back to the job since when I started to dismantle it a couple of days ago. The bit you refer to as levering off, does this lay directly against the glass of the screen. I.E do you lever the whole piece of or is there something left that meets the glass.? Sorry but I havent had a chance to have a look since tryig it in the first place. Al I know is that I bent a screwdriver trying to lever it off.

Agreed. There is no secret catch or button as I recall. Two levers plus WD40 should do the job. If you are bending screwdrivers, you are

a) applying too much leverage.
b) using cheapo screwdrivers.

Had to take mine off couple of days ago and it came off quite easily. Might be an idea to put some copperslip on it when you put it back.
