I've had 2 new windscreens in the last 3 years, and both times the glass came with the mirror mounting already bonded in place.
Ditto
Why is it new shiny winscreens get broken quicker than old pitted ones [8|]

Autoglass quoted me £963 + VAT whereas my independant fitter charged me £260 + VAT for EXACTLY the same windscreen (top tint and aerial etc) and from the same supplier as far as I know.
No wonder Autoglass are keen on insurance work if that's the kind of mark up they make!!

Dunno, but I have had cause to ask for quotes for a new windscreen for an S2 coupe from an OPC recently (long story). In true diligent style, I got two quotes from two OPC's ... anyone care to guess what the two prices are? (Hint: They vary massively. OPC's were East London and Guildford.)
Oli.
Don't OPC just farm the work out to the likes of Autoglass?
The RAC windscreen guy had arrived and left within 30 mins. He tried to remove the windscreen rubber seal but managed to rib the seal. He then offered to replace the seal with a 'better' looking universal type (because they don't have a Porsche one and they don't order things from Porsche directly) which I of course declined the offer. I know for sure that at least there is one OPC have them in stock and I asked him to go back and check with the management and come back to me today for a resolution.
The seal costs £25 and of course I will not pay for it - its a matter of principle right.
