Replacing steering rack - big job?

Hi guys,

how awkward is it to get at the steering rack on a 928? Its usually just a few bolts holding these things on, but sometimes awkward to physically get at.

Anyone any idea?

Kev.

Hi Kevin :)

Not done one myself but power racks are rarely just a few bolts :)

If you Email Adrian Clarke (click this >> http://www.porscheclubgbforum.com/tm.asp?m=192581)

He will know :)

All the best Brett :)

Took a look at the manual, and basically once you remove the track rod ends, a few hoses, you have a few bolts. Looks pretty accessible from the manual anyway.
Will probably not have to do it anyway, but just wanted to check before I got myself into something I'd regret! [;)]

there is a place in Bristol that fits exchange units whilst you wait. I think the link to their website is at the top of the 928 forum .
Thats if you decide not to do it youreslf.
take a look on pelican and clarkes garage for a stripdown guide
