Replacing the lightbulbs in the front bumper

Hello All,

Any advice on how to change the light bulbs in the front bumper of a 82' 944 ?

I have had a look but i'm completely baffled, i can see screw holes for the indicator lenses (this i can do!) but not the inner sidelights.

1. Unscrew bottom screw on rubber bumper pads, remove pads. This will expose 3 M4 screws
2. soak the screws with wd40
3. Round off or snap said screws
4. repair above
5. Surround will come off allowing access to the screws that hold the bumper lamps in
Best of luck!

Hello JamesO,

So far, so good, i have the light surrounds off (and no rounded off or snapped screws either!) but... it appears that there is 3 screws holding the light cover in, is this correct (looking at the front of the car theres one on the right side of the light and 2 on the left side of the light and vice versa on other side). If so, all 3 are rounded off on both sides!!

There is also 2 screws cross head screws that aren't rounded off (above and below the side with one screw), but they just seems to go round and round without anything happening?

Any help?

excuse me for dragging this thread back to life...

I've got the light assembly in my hand and the three screws are out - so I can get to the bulbs.

Does the main bulb include the trailing wire back to electrical connector?

How do I chnage the lens only - I can't work out how to get it out of the housing. Does the lens include the plastic mount into which the reflector bit is connected?

I tried swapping the whole unit but it doesn't work - the bulbs seem fine (the unit is brand new).

Which bits should I try swapping - have I missed something obvious?
