Replica Design 90s

The front wheels on my S2 appear to be replicas of the Design 90s, because unlike the rears, they don't have the width/offset showing either side of the valve. Is there any disadvantage to having replicas, in terms of weight or longevity? And does anybody know who would have made them?

Thanks

I've never ever heard of any replica wheels in the D90 style (but I'm prepared for these to be the first [:)]). Most likely they have been refurbished a number of times and the raised letters have been blasted away - alloy is very soft, and the subsequent coats of paint have hidden the marks. Check the back of the spokes for Porsche part numbers, I think D90's all start with a 964. prefix

I took the wheel off this morning and you're right it's a genuine Porsche item, although I noticed that the part number starts with "964". Is this right? I checked against the spare set of alloys that I have and they have a "964" part number too. Anyway, on the back face of the wheel the size is given as 7/55 which sounds right to me.

It's odd really as the rears have been refurbished too but their numbers show up nice and proud and it's just the fronts where they have been erased.

While under there I noticed by ARB bushings are shot, but I'll put up a new post on that.
