By now, most (if not all) of you will know, that on the 4th September at the Royal Agricultural College there will be a display of all Porsche cars in celebration of the PCGB 50th Anniversary.

It will also be the 20th birthday of the 964 Turbo, so it would be good to celebrate this as part of the 964 display.

If you own a 964 Turbo or a 964 and will be displaying your car at the RAC on 4th September, I need to know within the next week to ten days max please. Either send a PM or email to me with details of your car and I will forward them to the relevant organiser at HQ.

Are there any other takers for this event??

So far there is just myself and Andy who will be displaying our cars. If you wish to display your 964 in the main display area it has to be PRE-BOOKED - please see my original post regarding this - otherwise the Club will have no idea of what size area we need allocating or what the layout of our cars will be in relation to other Registers.

I have booked for the weekend event, but have booked also for Silverstone at 3.15PM on Saturday. (estimated arrival time at RAC 5.30ish, I am also staying over night. I am prepard to display my car C2 reg L611 LUE, but will this lock me in on the Sunday? I do not intend on leaving early, but if the weathers poor I may want to leave.

Hi Amanda

I am sorry but I am unable to attend with my 3.6 Turbo but I will be there with my Audi RS2.

As far as I'm aware, all the Registers will be allocated one area. I don't think the logistics worked of everyone trying to organise an individual special themed display.

I still have no idea on what time it all kicks off on Sunday, but given I'm driving 90 odd miles to the venue I guess I will get there for about 0930.

From what I understand I don't think there is a lock-down to a particular leaving time. If the weather closes in or threatens to turn nasty in the afternoon, I think a lot of attendees (me included) will be wanting to make an early(ish) departure. I'm really hoping we don't get a deluge of rain beforehand. We've been assured the ground drains well, but I've heard claims like that before from venues and I'm never entirely convinced until I see it for myself.

964 logistics for me may mean I have to turn up in a 964 that resembles a Boxster. Sorry, the last 18 months without a job have been sheer hell and I'm hanging on by fingernails only right now!

Hope to see as many of you as possible over the weekend.

Advance warning on the weather!!

The current Met Office forecast for Sunday is for heavy rain/showers and chilly temperatures over the south and south west England, including Cirencester.

Personally, I feel the 50th Anniversary celebrations should have been held earlier in the year. I know the British climate can never be guaranteed even in the so called summer months, but from many years of personal experience at various outdoor events, the start of September has always been a wet (and not particularly warm) one.

Bring your macs, wellies and umbrellas folks!!

Doesn't look like rain, but not very warm:
