Just to let you know, I will be driving the red 968 CS restoration car (Porsche Guildford / Premier Panel Skills) to Althorpe House this Sunday to the national event. It will be parked with the 968 register, do come and say hello and see the car if you are going. Cheers Rich

Cheers Martin, the car was great with no problems over the 4 hour drive. Loads of interest, all good promotion for every model of 968. Here's a quick pic from Sunday.

I have seen that car parked at race circuits a few times over the years I am pretty sure, what's its story???

Hi Mark,
It used to be owned by 968 enthusiast Del Brocklehurst, unfortunately Del passed away in 2005 after many track outings in the car and it has sat outside for quite a few years since then. It is being restored by Porsche centre Guildford and Premier Panel Skills of Farnham (both with previous connections with Del) over this winter. If you go to http://www.porscheguildford.co.uk/about-us/news-events/porsche-classic-restoration-competition-2015-2016 you can see further info. Cheers Rich

Hi Richard,

Nice to chat with you on Sunday when we were both admiring the [very yellow!] Cayman GT4 and later when I came over to look at the 968.

Although its bodywork is looking rather shabby - a little bit beyond T-Cut I think - I look forward to seeing the final product when it's been restored. Something closer to the adjacent red 968 maybe?

From what you were saying, perhaps we'll be seeing you in a Cayman in the future...

Hi Jeff,
Thanks for your message and I enjoyed our chat, it was a very enjoyable day. Some lovely cars there including that GT4.

I had a good look at your Cayman later in the day, very nice indeed and glad to hear you use it often. As it should be.

I think the 968 restoration car is going to look fantastic at the end of it all, I'll try to post a few pics of its progress over the coming months.

A Cayman is certainly on the cards when my kids are too large to fit in the back of the 968, a good few years away though.

Hope to catch you in the year.
Cheers Rich

Well the restoration has begun, Porsche centre Guildford have started on the engine and gearbox and the car is back at Premier Panel Skills being taken apart. Cheers Rich

Wow.
I wondered where that car had gone.
I had a few passenger laps with Del round Donnington in the car, and chasing him in mine...
He was a good chap....
Good to know itl be back to rude health sometime soon.....

Good to hear that Dave, how did it compare to yours, it seemed a very well sorted car?
His family know all about the restoration, I saw it the other day and it's coming along great, the engine is in pieces at PC Guildford and seems to be in great shape. Cheers Rich
