Hi all.
I'm restoring a 1989 944s and was just wondering where the best parts source is for spares ??

Depends what you're after

Porsche are pretty good for stuff, there's not much that is NLA. Prices can be surprising (in both directions). Parts dept will usually give you a discount. I use Leicester PC.

You can download the parts catalogue (PET) from Porsche, the workshop manuals are online in various places. Clark's garage is very good.

There's a list of suppliers in the FAQ's

oh and welcome to the forum, let's have some pics... [:D]

Hi, thanks for the welcome. Well mainly it's body parts like rubber seals, badges, lights etc. I had to remove the front wings to fabricate the bottom of them where the had rusted. Next job is glass out........

Ask for Glenn at Leicester, very helpful Bloke And nice with it,very good discounts to 944 Forum membPics of your project would be ace..!

Always check the Porsche price first. I've seen sellers on Ebay trying to get more for used parts than you can buy new ones for.

Parts sources and prices are hotly-debated topics on here, but the best advice is to shop around as much as possible. I've never found an OPC to be cheaper than a specialist supplier (and are often several times the price of purchasing elsewhere) but many people report on here that they can be.

I've always and without fail found Max Schenker at Frazerpart to be amongst the cheapest and exceptionally helpful - the website is http://www.frazerpart.com. Promax are also always excellent and very well worth talking to - https://www.promaxmotorsport.co.uk/default.aspx. Between these two, plus the occasional request on here for parts from a breaker and trips to an OPC for more obscure bits, you should be able to find most of what you need.

Oli.

OK, so finally tracked down my parts and the cheapest place ?? Porsche centre Reading...... Goody box comes tomorrow......
