Retrim advice please

Hi Guys,

Well basically, at very least I need a retrim of my carpet (Midnight blue interior) and I'm thinking of having the whole lot done, but this is dependant on a few things so I would like some advice.

I've done research on a few recommended trimmers and I know Southbound are great as I used them last year for my targa retrim(also very costly), so I have a few varying quotes.

I have quotes from:
http://www.kishexecutivecars.co.uk/ - £3500
http://www.trim-star.co.uk/ - £1600
http://www.southbound.plus.com/southbound/ - TBA (approx £4-5k)

Obviously cost is a factor, but so is quality and material type.
My concerns lie really within residual values and originality, though I realise a visit to Southbound is going to look most attractive in the cars history.

If I change the colour of the interior (I'd like black and white) is this likely to affect the value of the car and is there and OEM spec I should be working to?

I'm not too up on retrim spec etc so any advice would be appreciated, so please throw in all your opinions[:D]

Cheers Guys

Where are you based?
We in R8 had a chat last year from an enterprising couple of ex upholsterers from Jaguar/Land Rover who were starting up on their own. They have 20 years experience each and well versed in the types of leather used in our cars and all the top range motors.
I can find their address if you want. I remember asking about doing the front seats on a 964 and they were quoting about 1K.

I'm In London, but I dont mind travelling (In fact I love it as long as its in my 964[:D]), so additional sources are welcomed thanks [:)]

If you're after the most cost effective solution, buy another interior and sell yours once you've fitted the new one.
I've never checked a car to see whether it has it's original interior colour, nor do I think the PPIs check this aspect.
Certainly the sports ('turbo') seats with the extra side bolsters are lovely in a 964....much more supportive.
993 seats will also fit straight in, so you could get some of the special hardbacked ones....I have them in mine.....nice.
There's also MJ interiors near Shipley, Bradford, who also use the correct materials like Southbound.....I'd guess Michael is cheaper...

Inflex Interiors in Weston on the Green are very good.
Gerry (owner) works on a lot of classic cars, including Bugattis, but actually has a lot of 911 experience (and patterns).
Only problem is that you won't get hold of him now until after Christmas.
