Retro-fit of options

Hi all

I am a bit of a Porsche newbie, so appologies if this question has been asked before.

I recently bought a used 07 997 CS. Its a fab car bit missing a couple of options I would have chosen have chosen if I had bought from new.

For example, rain-sensing wipers. When I went to the local Porsche centre they said it cannot be retro fitted. Same story with parking sensors. Now I would have thought the wiring loom is the same on all rear wheel drive 997 coupes. So retro fitting these options should in theory be easy.

Is it that Porsche UK are just reluctant to get involed with retro fit t of options? Or are they really that difficult to fit?

I notice, for example, that in the Tequipment catalouge, the Powerkit is a retro fit item. This means an engine rebuild, which seems harder than swapping the rear-view mirror (for rain sensing wipers). So whats the story?

Are there any third parties who retro-fit porsche options?

Cheers

Mark

Marcus,

Retro fit X51 Powerkit is no more difficult than a basic filling for a Dentist when done by the right Porsche people !

The results are fabulous !!

Re the PDC my OPC retro fitted it for £350 as part of the deal and colour matched the sensors etc...no way you can tell it's not an originally fitted option.
