Hi there,
Does anyone know if you can easily retrofit 996/986 Bose door speakers into a non-Bose 996 C4S? I am hoping that it is just a case of unplugging the existing speakers and replacing them with the Bose speakers but not sure if you need to also replace the standard amplifier with a Bose amp?
Any advice would be welcome.
Thanks.
Steve

Hi I am just going to try the same I bought some Bose front door speakers. I am also trying to buy the rears but really struggling to find them. They should work but I have my doubts so I will see. There's a good video on how to remove the door panel on u tube

Hi there, thanks for the reply.
Perhaps you could post your experience in fitting them on the forum so that we can all benefit?
I will have a look at the u tube video, thanks for the tip.
Regards,
Steve

The door speakers are just sub-woofers and the standard speakers are pretty rubbish Nokia items. I fitted Kenwood speakers in mine and it sounded much better.
You are best replacing the dash speakers first though, take a look at the youtube video but turn your pc sound off as the music is most annoying.

Hi Tony,
Thanks for the advice and the youtube link. Did you use the existing speaker frames, modified as shown in the video, or did you opt for a fitting kit? Also, what model Kenwood speakers did you fit? Looks like a good winter project to upgrade the sound system without spending a fortune!

MB Quarts sell 10 inch co-axials with a frame that fit the original grilles with very little modification. The sound improvement is good.

Hi,
I've just fitted Bose speakers in to the front and back of mine with a Pioneer double Din and they sound good but I think they would be better with a Bose amp and Sub woofer under the seats or on the back shelf.
