retrofit DAB radio

I am picking up my new car this week a 2013 Cayenne GTS however it does not have DAB radio, do any of you know if the existing PCM can be upgraded easily rather than going down the retrofit route.

Thanks in advance

There are few options that can be retrofitted, however sadly they would invalidate your warranty , certainly anything that could be considered electrical. Mine too is a 2014 year car and when I spoke to the local service manager he explained that Porsche are extreamley sensitive to any non standard parts being fitted. I have even purchased two retro fit options that will communicate DAB down the USB input, but I still need to install a DAB aerial and that means stripping trim off. I am like you no doubt very frustrated , Good news is that I can stream my spotifly music down the Bluetooth great and as I have unlimited data on my phone can do the same for radio so found quite a good alternative.

Have you considered a pure highway device. Got one in one of my cars plug in to power socket tune your radio to it and you have DAB inexpensive and easy to use and works great. Just a thought.

thanks for advice, think will try the Pure Highway option, although the engine soundtrack is good enough anyway!!

Having bought a 2013 Cayenne a couple of months ago, the lack of interest by Porsche through it's dealership in helping solve this issue has been the most surprising and disappointing part of Porsche ownership. DAB radio is now such a common feature on a vast number of much cheaper cars, a Porsche alternative to sticking a plastic aerial on a window and using FM frequency to play the PURE device must be brought forward as UK radio considers scrapping FM completely in the future.

My best solution has been an in car internet dongle and Iphone internet radio, but this still depends on a decent 3G or 4G network which is good in most large towns and cities, but very hit and miss "in the sticks" and on most motorways.

Come on Porsche, present a Porsche solution to owners.

100% agree but FM won't be going anywhere all that will happen is we will have less stations . Remember that it costs over £100k a year for a digital licence and only £30k for a FM over 85% of cars on the UK Road don't have dab .

Porche are very poor though in their attitude and way behind the after care in this department it would be nice to see them offer a retro kit or some solution that does not invalidate the warranty. I think you will find the 4G solution will work sooner than Porche .
