Retrofit heated seats???

Guest

The beloved Boxster is about to finally enjoy itself as a garaged weekend car and have some much needed TLC starting with a respray next week. Hurrah!

Of the several other jobs needing attention is the driver seat (metropole blue sports) which suffered the famous jean stud tear in the side panel.

This got me thinking.. given that I enjoy open top driving on a dry day in the winter I would really like to have heated seats? Is it possible to retrofit heated seats and part exchange the seats - rather than going for a simple repair job to the leather side panel?

any idea how much...?

might there be an option with porsch-apart / jasmine / similar?

Hi,

I've investigated the fitment of aftermarket heated seats at Southbound, the kits are approx £80 per seat, but £150 per seat to fit them, as obviously all the upholstery has to removed and then replaced

I have been in touch with Southbound trimmers... they're not taking any bookings until Oct 2007!

I had a 1998 Boxster and vaguely remember that the seats were prepared for heating and there was a fix on Boxster Petes board.

What's the problem with that - isn't winter after October?

Very logical... but I was a tad embarassed leaving the Boxster with the roof down at Headingham Castle on Sunday!
