Retrofit HID Install

Just thought I'd write a quick note about retro fitting HID Xenon headlights.
The kit I used was from aceparts.com, email Alan for details, but my H7 5000K kit was £125.
The kit comes with all you need, including a weatherproof grommet for the light cluster.

The result is very good and ALMOST as good as OEM Xenon headlights, the only thing that lets it down is not having quite as far a beam
, but this is down to the standard lens, rather than the HID kit.

If anyone wants any more info, please PM me.

Paul.

The HID ballast was located in the wing, to the side of the headlight unit. Velcro pads were used and a tiewrap.

The rear of the headlight unit needs to be drilled to allow the HID ballast connections to pass through.

The wiring loom and gromet are fitted to the rear light cluster cover.

H7 Lamp Holder & Socket - This needed modding on my car to allow the lamp to be passed through, as the lamp is soldered to the loom.

The HID lamp is now fitted into the light cluster and the existing H7 socket is connected to the loom.
(Thanks to the guys on here) Brown is -VE and Yellow is +VE

All ready to be re-installed into the car.

The kit also included two H6W white LED sidelights, which look better than the stock yellow halogen ones

The Xenon light is not quite as white as I expected, but after a quick test drive in the dark there is a BIG improvement!
