Hi Guys, Well, I've fitted the 997 gearshift option and that is a great improvment in feel with a small reduction in throw - great to drive. I was also considering retrofitting cruise as i hear it is relatively simple. My question is does anyone know what the part number is for the 4 module control stalks or can you just get the cruise one on it's own?

Retrofit of Cruise to '03 C2 cab (facelift)
- Thread starter ian996
- Start date
You will need:
Stalk - 996.613.219.10.EWC
Connector: 999.652.972.40
4 x VW repair wires - VW part number 000.979.009
Drop me an email and I'll send you a wiring diagram, and details of coding the control units.
Edit: The cruise stalk is part of the 4-stalk unit, and you can't add it separately.

Richard,
I'm a little confused by this, the only 4 stalk units I have seen have cruise control. So how can cruise be added? Apologies if I'm being stupid.
I have a MY99 C2 and would love to add cruise control but I've been told it's not possible.
If it is possible, would you be kind enough to post a few instructions. Thank you.

There are 3 types of stalk units available. 2-lever is standard, 3-lever has the OBC stalk bottom left. 4-stalk has the Cruise stalk botttom right. The OBC stalk is actually screwed on the side of the 2-lever or 4-lever stalk units. However the cruise stalk is integral in the 4-stalk unit.
On a 99 C2 which has mechanical throttle, it is extremely difficult to retrofit cruise. I did it on my C2, but you have to fit a new throttle pedal and cable, actuator mechanism, and quite a bit of wiring. On cars with electronic throttle (eGas) the controls are all built in to the DME and Instrument cluster modules, so it is a much easier job to wire up, and activate the control modules to make it work.

Yes, it can be retrofitted to your car. Whether your indy knows how to do it or not is another question. There is about £200's worth of parts required to do the job, plus labour. This will give you an idea of total costs: www.wrightune.co.uk (click Retrofits).
