Retroftit Homelink - can it be done?

As it says really. Can you get Homelink retrofitted on a 987? I asked OPC East London who have had to go back to PGB and still haven't been able to give me an answer. If the OPC can't do it, would anyone know of company that does it using the OE switches?

[FONT=verdana, geneva"]My OPC told me it was factory fit only, as it involves a change to the molding next to the light switches by the rear view mirror. Worth it, though, as I never mislay the garage door opener.[FONT=verdana, geneva"]

When the 987 came out in the US someone wanted to retrofit it to a 986. We looked up the parts and just the cost of parts alone was very very expensive. The transmitter is behind the front bumper cover near the latch by the way.

It was decided the aftermarket was a better solution. Jeff

Thanks guys - may be prohibitive on the cost of the parts alone then. I may have a bit of bother getting this past the boss as the cost of Homelink when ordering was pretty much equal to her knackered old Corsa, and she fails to see why I can't leave the plipper in the door pocket just like everyone else on the planet. I tried to explain that there seems to be some unused switches on my car which just isn't right....
