Rev counter help on 968

grover

New member
My rev counter has packed in on my 968 race car.

Any known solutions to this, how best to resolve it or fix it?

Is it a whole replacement binnacle or just a dial or sensor swap or other part change worth trying?

Any thoughts most appreciated.

David, have you asked on porsche968uk forum? You may well get more help on there as, regrettably, that forum is far more active than this 968 forum.

David,
As far as i can remember all the gauges are separate, so it will be replacable...
Although its a while since i took a binacle apart...
I might even have a spare binnacle somewhere.
Do you want me to have a look for you..??

David hi.

Have the electrical connections been checked for continuity? - I suspect a dodgy connection as the most likely cause. (especially if it just died suddenly with no warning)

You have been using the car on track and things are capable of working themselves free, perhaps more likely when a car has been re-built from the bottom up like yours.

good luck ..... a competent auto electrician should be able to diagnose the root cause in minutes.
