Reverse Light switch

I'm just raiding Helen's computer, whilst at home!

Can anyone tell me where I can locate the switch for the reversing lights.

My lights seem to be "intermittant" and after checking the lights, I want to check the switch, but it is not obvious from my manuals where it is located.

Any help welcome!

sender is on the gearbox, but the loose connection could be anywhere I guess...

my reverse light sender is knackered I won't bother replacing it unless the MOT man notices as it's 44gbp plus vat!

I have checked it out - many thanks.

The wire plugs were a bit loose and now seems sorted!

Next problem only one light working!

It seems the right hand light (from rear) which is cross wired from the left light has a dodgy connection somewhere, but I can't find it. The connections at the lights seem fine and the bulbs are now new and correctly inserted into the holders.

Any suggestions?

arrr old cars just think of all the hrs wasted on silly little things like this......[:D]

Ahh but the fun of it![;)]

I guess I'll just have to trace the wires along the back bumper and see if there's a problem - if I can get at them around the exhaust[]

Mine doesn't work either . . . . I've checked the connection to the sender Gav mentions and they seem fine. If I disconnect and hold the two wires together with the ingition on . . . the lights should come on . . . right?

If they don't the switch needs replacing (or the pin needs sorting).

We are certain this is the switch (as per Gav's piccy) as I searched Pelican and they all reckon the switch was on the tip/end of the gearbox . . . . presumably they're talking about later boxes . . . right?

The switch for the gearboxes of our vintage are on the right hand side. I know as I've had to reconnect the wires to mine many times!!!
